Greyhounds Roll Past Williams Baptist JV for Second Win of the Season
Walnut Ridge, Ark - After a challenging opening weekend, the ASU Mid-South Greyhounds bounced back in dominant fashion, defeating Williams Baptist JV 93-65 on the road in Walnut Ridge for their first away win of the season.
Five Greyhounds scored in double figures in the balanced offensive effort. Taylor Conner led the way with 15 points, while Merle Peterson added 14 off the bench. David Brewer chipped in 13 points, and Jaxson Yancy contributed 12. Phillip Tillman filled the stat sheet with his first double-double of the year, tallying 10 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and five steals in an all-around performance.
With the win, ASU Mid-South improves to 2-1 on the season.
"I was glad we were able to get all of our guys in the game and let them all get some game reps," said Greyhounds head coach Cody Hastings "After a tough weekend like we just had, this was more of a mental test than anything. I wish our focus was just a little better, but this was a good step forward as we get ready for a big weekend in Quincy."
The Greyhounds will now travel to Quincy, Illinois, to compete in the John Wood Classic, where they'll face top-ranked Kirkwood and host John Wood College.
