Fast Start Fuels Lady Greyhounds Past Shawnee to Close Out 2025

ASU Mid-South put together a wire-to-wire performance on the road as the Lady Greyhounds closed out the 2025 calendar year with an impressive 19-point victory over Shawnee Community College, pulling away early and never looking back.
The Lady Greyhounds set the tone from the opening tip, jumping on Shawnee early and often. ASU Mid-South raced out to a commanding 25–9 lead after the first quarter, using defensive pressure and efficient offense to put the Lady Saints on their heels.
Shawnee settled into the game in the second period, with both teams trading baskets, but ASU Mid-South continued to control the pace. The Lady Greyhounds were able to extend their advantage by one heading into the locker room, taking a 43–26 lead into halftime.
Offense slowed for both sides in the third quarter as the teams combined for just 23 points, but it was once again ASU Mid-South that won the period. The Lady Greyhounds used timely stops and strong rebounding to stretch the lead to 20 entering the final frame.
From there, ASU Mid-South weathered any potential run Shawnee could muster. The Lady Greyhounds' defense stayed true down the stretch, sealing a commanding road win in a tough environment.
Lula-Jae Tranfaglia continued her stellar season, leading all scorers with 25 points while also pulling down 13 rebounds for a dominant double-double performance. Cadence Irby recorded her first double-double of the season, pouring in a new career-high 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Serenity Austin finished with 10 points, five rebounds, and six assists, while Areinna Manson added eight points and eight boards. T'nya Ray and Survanna Clay chipped in four points apiece.
Shawnee was led by Diamond Gray's 24 points and nine rebounds. Ceinna Roberts scored nine points off the bench, while Keniya Ward and Alexzandria Harris each finished with seven points. Ariyana Robertson added four points.
With the victory, ASU Mid-South improves to 3–14 on the season. The Lady Greyhounds will return to the Dog House in 2026, hosting conference opponent SAU Tech on January 7. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
