Lady Greyhounds Fall to Jackson State Community College, 83–56
Jackson, TN - The ASU Mid-South Lady Greyhounds couldn't overcome a hot-shooting Jackson State Community College squad on Monday night, falling 83–56 on the road. The Lady Green Jays used a barrage of three-pointers to create separation early and never looked back, knocking down 11 shots from beyond the arc compared to just two for ASU Mid-South.
While the Lady Greyhounds found success attacking the paint and drawing contact, their struggles at the free-throw line limited their ability to close the gap. ASU Mid-South earned frequent trips to the stripe but converted only 62.1% of their attempts, leaving valuable points behind in a game where every possession mattered. Turnovers also loomed large, as Jackson State forced 16 more giveaways than the Greyhounds, creating easy transition opportunities and stifling any chance of sustained momentum.
Jackson State's Hannah Johnson delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with 27 points and an impressive 5-of-6 mark from three-point range. She was supported by a balanced Lady Green Jays offense that saw Mashawna Ridley add 15 points, Sarai Batts score 13, and Brooklynn Spates finish with 11.
Despite the loss, the Lady Greyhounds saw several strong individual efforts. Serenity Austin paced ASU Mid-South with 12 points, while Areinna Manson provided a perfect shooting night, scoring 11 points on 4-of-4 from the field. Alana Whiten followed closely with 9. Lula-Jae Tranfaglia continued being a double double machine scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
ASU Mid-South (2-10) will look to regroup and bounce back at home as they welcome the Lady Pioneers of North Arkansas College on Saturday, December 6, with tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
