Lady Greyhounds Fall in Season Opener at Motlow State
LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — The ASU Mid-South Lady Greyhounds opened their 2025-26 season on the road Tuesday night but came up short, falling to Motlow State Community College, 68-57.
Sophomore Lula-Jae Tranfaglia led the Lady Greyhounds with an impressive first double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points and 15 rebounds to pace ASU Mid-South on both ends of the floor. Ka'mbili Nelson and Alana Whiten each added 9 points, while Areinna Manson and Cadence Irby chipped in 7 points apiece in a balanced offensive effort.
The Lady Greyhounds trailed by just four points at halftime but struggled to contain Motlow State's hot shooting in the second half. The Lady Bucks were led by Sable Winfree's 27 points, while Alicia Davis scored 14 and Jasmine Webster added 13 to help seal the win for Motlow State.
The Lady Greyhounds (0-1) return to action tomorrow, Saturday, November 1 as they take on Albany Tech in Day 2 of the Motlow State Classic before hosting their home opener at The Dog House on November 6.
