Bio
Smith was a two-year starter for a team that finished 23-7 after winning a conference championship and advancing to the state tournament finals. A "high motor" player, Smith sacrificed his offense to serve as the defensive stopper on the team, regularly guarding the opponents' best player. He averaged 6 points and led the team with just over 2 steals per game, but was one of those players whose real contributions were not reflected on the stat sheet.
"Jared was our 'glue' guy," Hall Head Coach Jon Coleman said. "He was constant energy and sacrificed a lot of his offensive game to give us the defense we needed to be successful."
