Greyhounds Up to #15 in National Poll
After taking two victories last week to move to 21-5, the Greyhounds climbed a spot to #15 in the latest NJCAA National Poll released February 21.
After taking two victories last week to move to 21-5, the Greyhounds climbed a spot to #15 in the latest NJCAA National Poll released February 21.
This week, the Greyhounds defeated Champion Christian College Monday by a score of 91-76, and they host West Kentucky tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader.
The Greyhounds are 13-2 since the Christmas break with their only two losses coming to NJCAA Division I Wallace State Community College (AL) and at NJCAA Division I Northwest Mississippi Community College, currently ranked #18 in the Division I poll, who also edged the Greyhounds at The Dog House in November. The only other two losses this season are to NJCAA Division I Itawamba Community College (MS) and Parkland College (IL), currently ranked #4 in the NJCAA Division II National Poll.
The Greyhounds also are still ranked nationally in several statistical categories including scoring (#7, 94.3 points per game), field goal percentage (#8, 49.4%), rebounding (#9, 46.2 rebounds per game), assists (#10, 20.7 assists per game) and steals (#12, 10.8 steals per game).
Following tomorrow's "Sophomore Night" the Greyhounds return to The Dog House Monday to play Central Baptist College JV before hosting North Arkansas College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for the NJCAA Region 2 title. The winner of that game advances to the NJCAA District XIII Playoff held at the home court of the Region 16 champion in Missouri on Saturday, March 10.
