Coach Dwayne McCray was named Interim Head Coach for the 2017-18 season after helping the Lady Greyhounds to the 2016-17 NJCAA Region 2 Championship as an assistant. He comes to ASU Mid-South from Melrose High School in Memphis, Tennessee, where he served the girls' basketball program for 14 years. He also coached softball, first as an assistant coach and then as head coach for two years. Prior to venturing into education McCray was in business management for nine years.
The Conway, Arkansas, native graduated from Conway High School where he was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball and track, earning all-conference honors in the latter two sports. He then attended the University of Central Arkansas to play basketball as a freshman before suffering a career-ending injury, but stayed at UCA to finish his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
McCray is married to Angela Walker-McCray, and the couple has four children: Dwayne, Jr. (30), Malisha (22), Mya (19) and Ashlon (12).
