Playing to stay in the hunt for the #1 seed in the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament, the Lady Greyhounds took a lead in the second quarter and then held off the Lady Rockets from SAU Tech (10-4, 7-2) the rest of the way for a 71-65 victory Monday in East Camden, Arkansas.
ASU Mid-South (18-1, 7-1) got a combined 34 points on 15-21 shooting from Cierra Penn and Meleanna Williams, and Kaylan Larry added 10 points and a game-high 6 assists as the Lady Greyhounds shot 45.2% from the field and 41.7% from the three-point line and dominated the boards, 45-30. Aaliyah Lee just missed another double-double, scoring 9 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Next up is a rematch with region-rival North Arkansas College, currently ranked #16 and the only team to defeat the Lady Greyhounds this season when they took a 70-67 decision March 6 in Harrison.
