Limited to just five players due to injuries and finishing the game with only four, the Lady Greyhounds were outmatched by a deep Three Rivers College team in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Nariah Matthews fouled out just 2:37 into the third quarter, and the Lady Greyhounds were forced to play with just four people the final 17:23 of the game which saw ASU Mid-South score only 9 second half points against an extra defender. The Lady Greyhounds shot just 22% from the field and 15% from the three-point line while committing 26 turnovers. On the other hand, Three Rivers had a career night shooting 58.3% from the field and an outstanding 13-for-24 (54.2%) from the three-point line.
Tatyana Burks led ASU Mid-South with 9 points and 4 assists, Matthews finished with 7 points to go with 3 rebounds, Javia Wilson scored 7 points, Tori Foster chipped in 5 points, and Briana Stewart led the team with 4 rebounds.
The Lady Greyhounds travel to Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi, Thursday as they play at 5:30pm followed by the men at 7:30pm.
