Using a 23-10 fourth quarter run, the 15th-ranked North Arkansas Lady Pioneers overcame an eight-point deficit to take a 59-54 win over the Lady Greyhounds Saturday at The Dog House.
ASU Mid-South led 29-24 at the half and 44-36 after three quarters of play, but the defending district champion Lady Pioneers battled back to take a 49-48 lead with 4:40 to play and the Lady Greyhounds just couldn't find another run.
The win gives the Lady Pioneers (18-3) the season sweep and the home court for the NJCAA Region 2 Championship on March 4, at 2:00pm, while the loss drops the Lady Greyhounds to 11-11 on the year.
Next up for the Lady Greyhounds is a home matchup with Three Rivers College who won an 80-64 decision on January 2 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Tipoff is scheduled for Monday at 5:30pm and a ceremony honoring ASU Mid-South's sophomore student-athletes will take place after the game and before the men's game at 7:30pm.
