With one of their two losses being at St. Louis Community College on March 1, the Greyhounds had redemption on their mind as they hosted the Archers Monday night at The Dog House. Mission accomplished.
Racing to a 14-point halftime lead, the Greyhound defense held St. Louis in check the entire night as they took an 85-50 victory in the rematch.
ASU Mid-South (12-2) got 18 points from Kylon McCullough on 7-of-10 shooting to go with 8 boards, and Sam Smith recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Spencer Simes, getting his first career start, scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, and he and Monroe Carr dished out 4 assists each. Kevin Fulton chipped in 10 points as the Greyhounds shot 45.5% from the field and an efficient 47.4% from the three-point line.
The win avenges a 68-57 loss on March 1 in St. Louis when ASU Mid-South held their highest ranking in program history at #2 in the country. Now ranked #9 in the latest NJCAA National Ranking, the Greyhounds' remaining regular-season schedule consists of five games which make up the second half of region play beginning with South Arkansas Community College Thursday at The Dog House followed by road games at UA Cossatot on Saturday and SAU Tech on Monday.
