The Greyhounds have added point guard Juwaun Clifton for the 2019-20 season as he signed a National Letter of Intent and Scholarship Agreement in a ceremony at Panther Pavilion on the campus of Greenbrier High School.
Clifton (6'3", 170 lbs.) was a two-year starter for the Panthers after moving in from Conway, averaging 13.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 41% from the three-point line and 91% from the free throw line as a senior for Head Coach Mike Simmons. Greenbrier finished the year with a 21-7 overall record and went 11-3 in the 5A-West conference before dropping a 58-52 decision to Little Rock Parkview in the state tournament.
Named All-Conference as a senior, Clifton also earned All-State Tournament honors for his performance against Parkview. His older brother, Jamaal, just finished playing at Allen Community College (KS) and has signed with Tiffin University (OH).
Clifton joins four recruits and a solid core of returnees as the Greyhounds lost only three sophomores from last season's 22-9 team that won the program's third NJCAA Region 2 Championship in a row.
