The Greyhounds missed a three-pointer at the buzzer that would have sent the game to overtime, falling 65-62 at St. Louis Community College.
The 62 points was a season-low effort for the Greyhounds despite shooting 50.0% from the field. However, the Greyhounds were 4-of-22 from the three-point line, 10-of-20 from the free throw line, and committed 18 turnovers in the losing cause.
Down 29-27 at the half, the Greyhounds battled throughout the second-half as the lead changed several times. But the Archers controlled the pace of the game and ASU Mid-South could do nothing to speed up the methodical approach as the press did little to speed up the game or create turnovers, and St. Louis hit key shots down the stretch and kept the visitors at bay from the free throw line in the last minute.
Ike Moore led the Greyhounds with 15 points while Jalen Lynn scored 14 to go with a team-high 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Zach Byrd and Christian White both scored 10 points each as Byrd also came down with 5 boards.
The Greyhounds next play tomorrow at West Kentucky in Paducah before returning to The Dog House Saturday at 2:00pm to face Region 2 foe Southern Arkansas University Tech.
