Breaking several records including most points in a game, the Greyhounds scorched Champion Christian College 142-52 Monday at The Dog House, breaking the record of 131 set against Faith Prep on January 23, 2016. The 60 field goals scored also broke the record for field goals in a game of 55 set against Crowley's Ridge College JV on November 10, 2014. The Greyhounds also shattered the record for largest margin of victory with 90 points, breaking the record of 63 points in a 103-40 victory over the University of the Ozarks JV on February 13, 2013, and set a new record of 84 rebounds to break the record of 72 set twice in the 2017-18 season.
Eleven Greyhounds scored in double figures led by Kamron Rose's third consecutive double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Jalen Lynn's 18 points. Freshman Garret Finley scored 15, Brien Kimmons and Christian White notched 11 points, and Zach Byrd, Shaheed Halk, Caleb Henry, Kamari Marrs, Ike Moore, and Jai Peters all scored 10 points. The Greyhounds held the visiting Tigers to only 13 first-half points while scoring 72 and 70 points each half.
The Greyhounds next take to the road as they play in the Pioneer Classic this weekend, taking on Murray State College and MCC-Penn Valley, the team the Greyhounds beat in the District Championship last season for their first trip to the NJCAA National Tournament. ASU Mid-South then travels to Senatobia, Mississippi, on Monday to take on Northwest Mississippi Community College, a familiar rival the Greyhounds have played each year since the inception of the program in 2010.
