With both the men's and women's basketball teams coming off NJCAA Region 2 Championship seasons, both teams look forward to a challenging schedule for the 2017-18 season.
The Greyhounds once again open the season with the annual Greyhound Tipoff Classic as they open with Coahoma Community College (MS) on Friday, November 3, and take on Parkland College (IL), who finished fifth in the nation last season in NJCAA Division II, on Saturday, November 4.
The men play 15 home games including six home doubleheaders with the women against Northwest Mississippi Community College (Monday, November 13), Itawamba Community College (Thursday, November 30), Northeast Mississippi Community College (Monday, December 1), North Arkansas College (Saturday, January 20), Central Baptist College JV (Monday, February 1), and National Park College (Thursday, February 15).
On the road, the Greyhounds will play in seven states this season including trips to Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. Two game tournaments or swings in Harrison (AR), St. Louis (MO), and Alabama give the Greyhounds plenty to challenge them on the road as they return eight lettermen from last season including all five starters, and five newcomers from the high school ranks.
The Lady Greyhounds travel for tournaments in Moberly (MO) and Neosho (MO) in addition to hosting the Lady Greyhound Classic November 17-18 where they will host St. Louis CC and National Park College from Hot Springs.
Of their 14 home contests, the women welcome Dyersburg State CC (TN), Holmes CC (MS), LSU Eunice (LA), Southwest Tennessee CC, Chattanooga State CC (TN), Crowley's Ridge College JV (AR) and Arkansas Baptist College in addition to their six doubleheaders with the men. The Lady Greyhounds return five players from last season's Region Championship team and welcome six newcomers including three sophomore transfers.
