With a convincing 89-66 win over Rhodes College JV, the Greyhounds move to 18-8 on the season and have matched the most victories in a single year with their third 18-win season in a row.
The Greyhounds used transition and timely shooting to race past Rhodes and take a 45-30 lead at the half behind 10 points from Dee Montgomery and 6 points each from Trevor Banks, Jerrick Cole and K.J. Patrick. Then in the second half it was Montgomery and Cole who heated up as the two combined for 26 of the Greyhounds' 44 second-half points as the home team was never threatened the rest of the way.
Montgomery led all scorers with 25 points while Cole finished with 17 points. Banks ended up with 11 points while Chris Smith scored seven of his 10 points in the second half.
ASU Mid-South next travels Wednesday to West Kentucky, a team they scraped by in an exciting 109-105 win on February 2 at The Dog House. The Greyhounds then return home Monday, February 27, with a matchup against Central Baptist JV before hosting North Arkansas College for the NJCAA Region 2 Championship on Saturday, March 4, at 2:00pm.
